9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Student Center East - Cardinal Room
750 S. Halsted Ave - Chicago IL

Please join us for this special one-day conference in honor of the late Louis Año Nuevo Kerr, who passed away last year.

Kerr was a pioneering scholar in her field and made a lasting impact on dozens of students and colleagues. Her dissertation, The Chicano Experience in Chicago: 1920 - 1970, was a breakthrough in the study of people of Mexican descent in the midwest. She served for nearly 10 years in academic and administrative roles at UIC, eventually becoming the Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.

This conference is a collaboration of Latin American and Latino Studies Program, the Department of History, and the Great Cities Institute with generous support from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. It is co-sponsored by LARES and the Latino Cultural Center.
