Download iCal FileJoin as we celebrate the digital launch of the Undocumented Knowledges archive! Undocumented Knowledges is a project by Esmeralda Arrizón-Palomera, Jorge Robles Mena, and Barbara Sostaita that seeks to document and preserve the histories of undocumented student activism at UIC and in Chicago more broadly. This public digital archive is a collection of oral histories from past UIC student activists who participated in undocumented social movements from the mid-2000s to the 2010s, most notably leading the first National Coming Out of the Shadows Day. The launch will feature a panel of organizers who participated in the project on how they think about histories of undocumented-led organizing in Chicago and what these past struggles can teach us in the present moment. This event is sponsored by the UIC Institute for the Humanities, the Latino Cultural Center, and the UIC Library.
