SUMMARY:Undocumented Knowledges
DESCRIPTION:University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) students have played an important role in undocumented social movements, both in Chicago and in the U.S. Notably, they led the first National Coming Out of the Shadows Day, an event that transformed the immigrant rights debate. During this presentation, we will share how we collected oral histories from past UIC student activists who participated in these movements from the mid-2000s to the 2010s to create a public digital archive.
