The event, which Prof. Dowling co-organized with Evanston Latinos, Evanston Lighthouse Rotary and the Rotary Club of Evanston, was aimed at educating Latino community members, local activists and political figures about Latino history, local community organizing, and sanctuary movements for resistance. Professor Dowling presented on the history of Mexican immigration and the U.S.’s “revolving door” policy.
