Jennifer Ullmann Teixeira is a first-generation college graduate from Brazil. She holds a BA in International Relations from the Universidade de Santa Cruz do Sul (UNISC), where she graduated with the highest final average in the program’s history (9.70/10).
Her research focuses on child migration in Latin America, particularly the experiences of Venezuelan children and adolescents in public schools in Southern Brazil. Using ethnographic methods, she explores mobility, displacement, and youth agency within educational settings.
Jennifer’s engagement with migration studies began during her undergraduate years, when she volunteered for five years with GTARI – Refugee and Immigrant Support Working Group – and worked as a research assistant on projects promoting cultural awareness and access to information. She also has over three years of professional experience in foreign trade and international negotiations in Latin American and Caribbean markets.
Jennifer is passionate about migration, education, and social inclusion in Latin America, and she aims to advance scholarship and policy that address the challenges and opportunities faced by migrant youth in the region.
