This series will highlight food justice, foodways and culinary culture from Black diasporic communities in Latin America. From the Afro- Mexican communities of Veracruz to Afro- Brazilian women chefs and cooks, activism takes place in preservation of African heritage, customs and practices. We will explore the survivals and transformations of African culinary traditions through conversations with creative artists and academics whose work centers the food of the Black diaspora of the Américas.
