About
Hugo RodrÃguez is a first-generation college student raised in the southside of Chicago. Born in Mexico City, Mexico, Hugo has been living in Chicago since the age of nine. He graduated from Shimer College, a Great Books School, with a degree in Humanities and a focus in Social and Political Philosophy. Hugo lived undocumented for most of his life and has dedicated himself to helping those who come from similar backgrounds. Hugo has worked in social services with unaccompanied minors, expecting mothers, individuals with developmental disabilities, and immigrant families. Currently, he works as an At-Risk Youth Coordinator for a CPS school in Humboldt Park. Hugo looks forward to the LALS program and learning how to better support his Latinx community. In his free time, Hugo enjoys cycling and taking walks with his dog, Pepa.
