About
Daniel grew up in Elgin, Illinois, a western suburb of Chicago with a substantial Latine population. He received his bachelor's in history and politics and government from North Park University. While in school, he primarily researched diasporas, conducting an independent study on the Puerto Rican diaspora in New York City after WWII, as well as the history of Mexican immigration to Elgin. Since graduating, Daniel has worked for the Illinois Student Assistance Commission, Alderperson Andre Vasquez, State Senator Robert Martwick, and several municipal campaigns in Chicago. Daniel is interested in research and work pertaining to labor rights, community and labor organizing strategies, diaspora studies, and histories of migration. In his free time, Daniel enjoys biking the lake, watching and discussing films, and volunteering for causes and candidates he's passionate about.
